Library Archive: NFPA 909 Cultural Resource and Pre-Action

Turkey's palace archives and manuscript libraries hold millions of irreplaceable manuscripts, many of them single copies. The 2019 Notre-Dame fire and the 2004 Weimar Anna Amalia Library fire, which destroyed 50,000 books, show how real this risk is. NFPA 909 mandates pre-action sprinkler, water mist and VESDA early smoke detection for museums and libraries.
