This notice explains how personal data is processed when you use the selvi.org membership and favourites feature. It is issued under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), Article 10. Last updated: 5 October 2026.
1. Data controller

2. Data processed
- From your Google account: name, e-mail address, profile picture link and Google account ID (for sign-in).
- Usage data: the addresses of the articles you add to favourites with the date added; session records (sign-in date, session validity).
No password is stored on selvi.org; sign-in is verified by Google. Nothing beyond the data from your Google account (no company, job title or phone number) is requested. No payment, location or special-category data is processed.
3. Purpose and legal basis
- Creating your account, signing you in and keeping your favourites list (performance of a contract).
- Security and abuse prevention (legitimate interest).
4. Transfers and retention
- Data is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure (Cloudflare Pages and the D1 database); Cloudflare acts as a processor and its servers may be located outside Türkiye.
- During sign-in, data is exchanged with Google LLC over the OAuth protocol; Google's own privacy policy applies.
- Data is never sold or shared for advertising.
- Data is kept as long as your membership exists. To delete your account, request it via the contact page; the account, favourites and sessions are deleted within 30 days.
5. Cookies
A single technical session cookie is used (sv_oturum, 30 days, selvi.org host only, HttpOnly), plus a temporary 10-minute security cookie during sign-in (sv_state). These cookies are not sent to other subdomains such as hvac.selvi.org. Google Analytics cookies are used separately for site statistics. In addition, cookie-free GoatCounter keeps aggregate visit statistics (page visited, referring site, browser, operating system, screen size, language and country); GoatCounter does not store IP addresses or identify visitors.
6. Your rights
You may ask whether your data is processed, request information, correction or deletion, object to processing and claim compensation for damage. Requests can be sent via the contact page and are answered within 30 days.

When this notice is updated the date is changed. By signing in with Google you confirm that you have read this notice.
