Hotel Lodging: NFPA 101 and MGM Grand 1980 Lessons

Turkey hosts 50 M tourists annually with 150,000 hotel rooms across resorts, city hotels and boutique hotels. NFPA 101 mandates QR sprinklers in every room, 2-way corridor egress, 61 m travel from the room door to an exit (sprinklered), room smoke detectors and 90 min battery-backed egress lighting. MGM Grand 1980 (85 dead) proved sprinklers save lives.
